As December and Aid Still Required’s year-end mailing approached, we were faced with the task of writing personal notes, stuffing, and addressing 900 letters to donors, colleagues and friends. Santa sent three of his elves early, in the form of two wonderful volunteers, Vasuda Bhutani and Michele Williams, and Michele’s son, Jovan aka Ray of Sunshine.
Vasudha is an optometrist, multi-lingual, and a budding realtor; Hunter met her in an emergency eye doctor visit and when she heard we needed help she said “What time shall I come”? Vasuda knocked our socks off with her efficiency and willingness to leap in.
Michele is an entrepreneur, runs her own home-based business that provides legal and identity theft protection, and is a single mom; Little did Michele know when, after hearing Andrea speak at First Tuesday’s Womens group, she said ” Please let me know how I can help, I’ll stuff envelopes, anything”, that she’d be called into action within the week! We were moved to tears when we found out Michele and Jovan drove 3 hours round trip to help Aid Still Required get our mailing out on time.
